bury with love, live with fervor.

pursue with passion, but do not become
single-minded without purpose.
nurture your curiosity, attend your quietude,
observe the rhythms of your spiritbody.

this is a short life, a long road, a high mountain,
a free(ing) fall. cherish the ground beneath
your feet even as it gives way, for you too
have become the ground: to stand,

to kneel, to shelter, to yield;
to defer, to devour, to defend
that which is strong and sharp,
soothing and sweet,
compounds and composts
for the valley where you lie.

honor the memory of your own life
while you are still here to see it.
erect monuments, inscribe testaments,
enshrine the temple of your most precious
connections.
