Big News! Special Announcement! It’s official!
My Patreon page has launched! This means I have a platform to post longer works–specifically, chapters from my debut novel Glass Halos, Paper Crowns. This also means people have a way to tangibly support my art and writing. Most importantly, it fosters a way for me to interact with my readers. It allows space for conversation, feedback, and community. I would absolutely love for you to join me.
Does that mean this website is going away? Not at all! In fact, I hope that I will be able to provide more consistent and organized content on this site. There will certainly be more art, not just on my page but in my store. I’m still working on my story schedule for 2021. My most frequent updates will be serializing chapters from my novel on Patreon. However, I can’t imagine that I won’t have any stories for you! Besides, I’ve got at least one project on the books for next year. I just might come up with another.
I can only afford Free.99. Not everyone will be able to financially support my writing, and that’s okay! A like, a share, a follow–that means just as much to me! My dream is to invite people to connect and engage with stories. I welcome your comments and reactions. I appreciate when you send a story post to someone who you think will enjoy my enjoy my writing. Don’t be afraid to engage! There are perks to supporting me on Patreon, but I plan to make most of the same content available in my store. (It just might be a few years down the road.)
Flying with a Bit of Faith
I didn’t think I’d live past the age of 16. Roughly a decade later, here I am: author, artist, business owner. Holding a full time job and committed to my dream of connecting to others through the power of story. And to think–this year, of all years, I found my footing. Over the next five to six months, I will continue laying the groundwork to make my writing and art available.
Despite what the title of this post may suggest, I’m not flying totally blind. I have a plan for this first project, and as always, I plan on learning from the process as I go. I can’t guess what the outcome will be. I can set goals and scale projects and features, but mostly it’s a game of wait and see what happens. If there’s anything I’ve learned this year, it’s Do the Work and Keep the Faith.
This is exciting. This is scary. This is my biggest dream come true, starting small and starting to bloom. I hope you’ll stick with me on the journey. There has been no shortage of self-doubt and horrible days along the way. I still struggle with that vacuum-feeling in the pit of my stomach, sucking all my confidence and joy away. But I’m here to stay.
I have decided to live. I hope you do too.
